River Flow in Black and White

Waterfall pouring over rocks Image#20111016-43

I  spent the morning photographing on an island in the middle of this river late last fall. The golden glow of the morning and the heavy fog meant that color seemed the natural choice. When the fog lifted for a moment, however the lines and flow of the river leading into the distance revealed a brand new composition. I like this image in color, but later when I converted it to black and white it took on a completely different character. A different way of seeing the river flow…..
